# RFQ - Private Market Maker

A request for quote (RFQ) is when a customer requests a quote from a supplier (market maker) to purchase tokens. The supplier (market maker) provides quotes, usually through an aggregator, and customers are shown the most competitive price. The customer can then accept or reject the quote. Private market makers usually run their own order books and more complex proprietary strategies to fulfill these requests.
