# Off-chain Pricing

Private market makers typically make use of off-chain pricing during quoting. The benefit is processing of information is much cheaper and faster off-chain. Continuous pricing is possible off-chain where pricing would be updated in the nano-seconds unlike on-chain pricing which would be limited by the blockchain's block time.
